Closing out the biggest weekend of the year, and November as a whole, with a genuinely eventful stretch behind us.

The Cyber Five, overall: a strong weekend for most sellers

Despite the search visibility concerns we tracked through the week, most sellers who reported in described Black Friday through Cyber Monday as a strong, sometimes their best-ever, weekend, with Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday both singled out as particularly strong days. It’s worth noting this doesn’t mean the visibility bug wasn’t real for the sellers it affected, but it does suggest the issue was narrower than the most alarmed forum posts midweek suggested.

Search bug: still no full public resolution, but reports easing

We haven’t seen a formal, detailed statement from Etsy specifically addressing the visibility issue from earlier in the week, though several previously affected sellers reported their numbers normalizing somewhat over the weekend. We’ll continue watching for any official acknowledgment or postmortem.

Small Business Saturday’s distinct tone paid off, per seller reports

Following Saturday’s piece on today’s different buyer motivation, several sellers specifically credited leaning into their shop’s story and personal touches, rather than just running a generic discount, with a strong day.

Removal-during-rush situations mostly resolved, one way or another

Following Friday’s mailbag piece, the handful of sellers dealing with a mid-weekend removal reported it either got resolved through a fast appeal or they pivoted to an alternative listing quickly enough to capture some of the remaining weekend traffic, a reasonable outcome given the circumstances.

Heading into December

With the Cyber Five now behind us, December brings its own distinct pressures, the final shipping crunch, holiday-specific gift-guide traffic, and the usual end-of-year policy and platform news. We’ll be tracking all of it closely.

That’s November. See you Sunday for the first week of December.
