Boycott: still loose, still ongoing
No major escalation since our deeper look earlier in the week, but no sign of it fading either. Message volume from concerned or protesting buyers is still elevated for shops in unrelated categories, based on what sellers are reporting in forums. We’re not seeing evidence yet of a broad sales impact outside the specific merchandise category involved, but we’re continuing to watch for that to change.
Back-to-school is now clearly the biggest traffic story of the month
Multiple sellers across labels, dorm decor, and personalized kids’ items are reporting their strongest week of the summer so far. This tracks with what we said earlier in July about search volume climbing ahead of the visible rush — shops that got listings live in mid-July appear to be benefiting from it now, several weeks ahead of the traditional “August rush” framing most sellers plan around.
Creativity Standards appeals: early reports are mixed
With the appeals window technically open since July 15, a handful of sellers are reporting submitting appeals for post-July-15 removals, with results ranging from quick reinstatement to no response yet. It’s too early to draw a firm conclusion about how well the process is actually working, and we’d rather wait for a larger sample of outcomes than report on a handful of anecdotes as if they represent the full picture.
Tariff sourcing costs: a seller-run workaround gaining traction
An interesting thread we noticed this week: some jewelry and craft supply sellers are organizing informal group purchasing arrangements, combining orders from the same overseas supplier to spread fixed costs and reduce per-unit impact from the rising import costs. Not a fix for the underlying tariff situation, but a practical, seller-driven response worth knowing about if you’re feeling the same cost pressure and haven’t found your own workaround yet.
Etsy Payments note
A small number of sellers flagged brief delays in payout deposits mid-week, resolved within a day or two. Etsy hasn’t issued any public comment, and the volume of reports was low enough that it doesn’t appear to have been a widespread issue, but worth a mention for anyone who noticed and wondered if it was just them.

With back-to-school now in full swing and wedding season still running through most of August, the next few weeks are shaping up to be a genuinely busy stretch across several categories at once.
